Rex was historically described as a ‘living tripod’, with the body being at approximately 45 degrees from the vertical, walking on two legs and dragging the tail around, but modern representations show it with its body approximately parallel to the ground and tail extended behind the body to balance the head, which paleontologists believe to be much closer to reality.
