Last month, the Niels Bugge Cartoon Award asked illustrators and cartoonists from around the world to submit drawings based on a basic theme: climate. Oceans are in our hands,” they proclaimed, and participants from all around the world put forth their best interpretations (often satyrical) of the current climate situation. You can check their website to see who won, but I won’t spoil that for you. Instead, I’ll share my favorites:

Aside for the brilliance of these drawings, I think it’s really nice to see how artists from different countries see and depict climate change. Keep an eye out for the artists’ country as you browse the images.
